InConcept to do ORM public training at

Northface University

InConcept continues to offer ORM training to the public via an agreement with Northface  University in Salt Lake City, Utah. Under this agreement InConcept will offer week long classes in ORM using Northface's facilities. In addition to the facilities the students will be able to visit a most interesting program for programing and database design. These students attend 40 hours each week and work in development teams just like the "real" world. They are given the best in instructors, curriculum, materials and equipment. The course takes 28 months for an undergrate degree. A master pogram is expected to start soon. Too bad I am not 30+ years younger. Attending an ORM class also permits the students to see the new home of ORM and visit with the staff. Your ORM training is provided by InConcept. InConcept has been offering the public courses for over 10 years and the instructors have been doing NIAM/ORM for over 20+ years each. Please contact Patrick Hallock if you are interested in an ORM course. The next course is scheduled for the week of April 5, 2004.

Microsoft .NET Show

InConcept's Richard Barden and Patrick Hallock joined Dr. Terry Halpin of Microsoft in participating in the .NET SHOW to speak about Object Role Modeling. Terry and InConcept each contributed with a demo on the approach and the tool within VSEA. You may view the show at http://msdn.microsoft.com/theshow/.

Visio Component Reader

Microsoft Visio now has a Visio Web Reader. This new reader allows you to share .vsd and .vxd diagrams over the internet. Or interest, of course, is the sharing of models created in MS Visio. You can down load the reader at: http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2002/VWC10.aspx

InConcept begins using Visio Studio . NET

Visio product to design systems for customers. After evaluating the newer version of the ORM and Logical model components of the upcoming Visio version InConcept decided it was stable enough to use in the 'real' world. Many of new features are found to be faster and easier to use. In particular we like the ability to separate the drawing from the object and fact lists. The ability to place a single object on a page and ask for related facts makes it easier to review models and to understand 'where used' investigations. The use of several source documents in the making of logical models is also an advantage over earlier versions. Using Visio custom properties allows us to put tagged data on shapes to enhance documentation.

Microsoft DevDays

The new Visual Studio .Net development environment now includes several modeling tools including Object Role Modeling. The local office of Microsoft permitted InConcept to present this session. About 300 people listened to the presentation.
