Editor's Corner
by Patrick Hallock

It has been a very slow summer, but we have some good articles again this issue. We are a bit late as I have been on the mend. First, thanks to Dr. Robert Meersman for inviting InConcept to participate in the ODBase'02 conference as a member of the board. Dr. Meersman is one of original creators of the NIAM now ORM approach to modeling. If I have the story correct, Dr. Meersman preferred  Object Role Modeling as the original name. The JCM will be issuing a special edition after the conference featuring papers selected as the favorites of the attendees. The conference is listed in our new area as well. InConcept News

2090: Modeling Business Requirements to Create a Database
Using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Enterprise Architect

The official Microsoft Course 2090 is now official. The course is Object Role Modeling with extensive use of the tools within Visio. InConcept participated in the beta presentation of the course and spent some time after the course speaking with the authors. The authors are a really great bunch of people. We agreed that the course is a bit of rush in 3 days, so be prepared for some information packed sessions. Maybe, we will see you in class. After some delay - waiting for this course to become available InConcept is again offering training using either the original ORM materials or the new course materials.
